It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Hollie Alexandra Lauder at the age of 44 on February 27th, 2025, at the St Boniface Hospital from cardiac arrest.
Hollie is survived by her son Malcolm Lauder, her parents Chuck and Pauline Lauder, Her brother Charlie Lauder, and his children Milo, Cameron, and Keira. Charlie's partner, Shy Pattie, and her daughter, Amelia. As well as her brother, James Lauder.
Hollie is predeceased by her grandparents, Abraham and Anna Thiessen, her grandmother, Mary Lauder, and her youngest brother, Shawn Martin Lucas. Her uncles Rod Thiessen and Dwayne Thiessen.
Born on August 12th, 1980, to Chuck and Pauline Lauder, Hollie grew up happy in the South Osborne neighbourhood of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Attending Christian Fellowship Church, going to Riverview Elementary and Churchill High School and enjoying life on the prairies. She showed great empathy when Chuck and Pauline began fostering children and eventually adopted James and Shawn. Tragedy befell the family when Shawn suddenly lost his life when Hollie was sixteen. Hollie and the family were never the same.
Hollie drifted from the church and God in her twenties, lost in life's obligations and responsibilities. All that changed when she gave birth to her son Malcolm at the age of 33 after a long struggle with IVF. That young man changed everything, refocused Hollie on the Lord, and brought her back to the church. Giving her life a renewed focus. Hollie became a pillar of her community. Regularly teaching sunday school and participating at Waverley Church. Being an active part of Malcolm's life in the school, the extracurricular activities like football, and caring for her parents. Community was very important to Hollie, and she cared strongly for everyone with love and empathy. She was also an important part of Dr. Reimer and Dr. Taylor's practice as Administrator. A most beloved mother, sister, daughter and friend to many.
Friends and family are shaken by this loss. Services commemorating her life will be held on Saturday, March 8th, 2025, starting at 11 am at Waverley Church, 2171 Waverley.
As we honour and remember Hollie, the family asks that any memorial contributions be made to Malcolm Lauder's Trust Fund.
