"As announced on December 30, 2024, the Government of Canada intends to amend the Income Tax Act to extend the deadline for making donations eligible for tax support in the 2024 tax year until February 28, 2025.”  - Canada Revenue Agency, 12/30/24

This change is not yet in place and depends on the passing of new legislation that will be introduced when Parliament reconvenes on March 24, 2025. Given the current state of the government, it is unclear if this legislation will pass. 

Currently, there is no information or process on how donations from January 1 to February 28, 2025, should be receipted.  As usual, we will issue your 2024 donation receipts for all donations received up to December 31, 2024.  Donations made during the extension period will be receipted separately if this legislation is enacted and the CRA provides subsequent guidance.
