VALERIE ROLLINS

BOARD OF TRUSTEES

gradient_02.png

Valerie grew up in Brandon, Manitoba and received her Bachelor of Arts and teaching certificate at Brandon University. She moved to Winnipeg in 1974, where she graduated Bachelor of Education, and was a full-time classroom teacher, resource teacher or reading specialist for 42 years, loving every minute.

In her early 30s, Val felt God drawing her to Himself and became a Christian in 1982 through the faithful witness of a woman who is now her best friend. She has been blessed with powerful and dedicated spiritual mentors during every step of her walk of faith. Bible study has been a passion for the last 40 years as Val led and co-led small group Bible studies. Val heartily supports the emphasis that Grant puts on small group membership. She strongly believes in the passion Grant Memorial leadership has for the Truth of the Bible, Bible-based preaching and Spirit-led ministry decisions at all levels.

The Word of God and the ministry of the Holy Spirit have been Val's "lamp for my feet and light for my path." She has served in Small Group ministry, the Women's prayer group and as a Sunday morning greeting host. She is also involved with Compassion Canada as a child sponsor, event volunteer and writes to several more children who have financial support but no personal communication from a caring adult. Val loves working as a team and believes God has given her gifts in administration, serving/helping, encouragement and giving. She is excited at the opportunity to offer these gifts and skills to serve Grant Memorial in the role of Trustee.
