From The Elders
We have been given an invitation by the God of the universe, the God who created all things, knows all things, can do all things, is everywhere, is unchanging, is love, is just, merciful and gracious – to come into His very presence and communicate directly with Him. And we can come to the throne of grace any time. And we can thank Him and praise Him, or intercede for someone, or ask for help, or for understanding, or peace. And He will be there. Always. Loving, listening, caring. So come, this weekend, and accept that invitation. Come and pray, alone and in community. Draw close to God. He will be glorified and you will be blessed.
The theme of this year’s Prayer Weekend is: Deepening Relationships. We will be guided throughout the weekend to focus our prayers on deepening our relationships with God, family, friends, our church and community. The specific prayer sessions will be facilitated and the Prayer Chapel and Prayer Walk will be available throughout the weekend. The Prayer Walk will have specific verses and thoughts to help you pray.
We hope that all who call Grant Memorial their home church will participate in some or all of these opportunities. For those who cannot physically join us at the church, we invite you to participate from home with the assistance of a Prayer Guide that will be provided. May this truly be a time of deepened relationships in our individual and collective journeys with our Lord, our family, our friends, our church and our community. God bless you.
