Responding to needs in Child Welfare

In every community, there are children and families at a point of crisis, who need help. In those same communities, there are churches who care and want to take action. But what they need is a connection point. CarePortal is an innovative tool giving churches a real-time opportunity to respond.

Grandma & almost 2yr old

Paternal Grandmother has her 23 month old granddaughter placed in her care. They have recently moved into an apartment in Winnipeg. They do not have many household items. The granddaughter had only a crib which she is about to out grow but now a partnered CarePortal church has supplied some needs and connected with them. If we have items that could shore up their relationship it would be helpful!

Respite! What is that?

We have had MANY asks for "Respite" from Fostering Families that are in our own Church Family.
Respite (a.k.a. babysitting/child minding) is a need for ALL ages of children in care, and for the Families that love on them.
This could look like a few hours a week, to a maybe even a weekend every so often.
It is a need that is as individual as each child and each Fostering Family.

If you or your family could see yourselves stepping in to shore up these families please respond and we can begin a conversation!
We would love to create community and build beautiful resource pool (aka people like YOU) within our Church family.

**note** each agency requires different checks and balances but don't be intimidated -- each Foster Family can hand hold and help with all the steps involved.

# of people who will be helped:

People who can come along side and partner as Respite for Fostering Families in our Church.
