New Staff // Coordinator of Pastoral Care

New Staff // Coordinator of Pastoral Care

Sean Sagert has accepted the role of Coordinator of Pastoral Care. Previously, Sean worked in various pastoral roles throughout the city.

Prior to accepting the role of Coordinator of Pastoral Care, Sean worked as the Executive Director of the St. James-Assiniboia 55+ Centre. He was responsible for the daily and ongoing operations of the Centre. This included leading the staff and working with the Board of Directors to assist the Centre in achieving its mission and financial objectives through leadership, planning and directing both the operations and resources.

Previous pastoral experience includes: Pastor, Connect Community Church, Winnipeg (2010-2013); Associate Pastor, Westwood Community Church, Winnipeg (1997-2009); and Youth Pastor, Mission Baptist Church, Winnipeg (1992-1997).

It was while he was on staff at Westwood Community Church that he had significant opportunities to develop his pastoral/shepherding gifts through counseling individuals and families, as well as premarital for couples in the church and broader community.

Over the course of the past seven years, he walked beside many families in some of their most difficult circumstances as a Funeral Celebrant. It is in this role that he has been able to continue to use and connect with his pastoral gifts.

It is through his 20 years of pastoral experience in both the North American Baptist and the Mennonite Brethren denominations that he has come to deeply appreciate the power of Jesus at work in the lives of people.

Sean has a BA in Liberal Arts from Providence College, and has completed Master of Arts Level course work with CREST Leadership Centre.

Sean and his wife Deidre and their two daughters (Paige and Ria) proudly call Grant Memorial their home church. Sean will begin providing pastoral care for our community October 30.
